It all started on the red carpet. Our first big moment from the Brit Awards was the power of the white rose. Most artists who showed up at the O2 Arena in London wore either a white rose pin or held an actual flower on the red carpet. Performers adopted the white rose first at the Grammys this year as a symbol of support for the Time’s Up and Me Too movements in solidarity with victims of harassment and abuse. Artists at the Brit Awards showing off a white rose included Dua Lipa, Camila Cabello, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Emma Bunton, and Cheryl.
Speaking of Cheryl, we’ve got her shocking bedroom confession as our number two moment. Cheryl and Liam Payne sat together at the show, putting to rest alllllll those breakup rumors. Cheryl turned it up a notch when host Jack Whitehall asked the pair some questions on live TV. Jack asked Liam how date night was going and Liam responded proudly, “It’s gone great so far.” Then Jack turned the conversation to Liam’s upcoming Fifty Shades performance with Rita Ora and asked the couple,
But we weren’t the only ones that noticed it wasn’t just Cheryl and Liam in the spotlight during that interview. In the background Este Haim of the band HAIM pulled focus by reacting to Cheryl’s safeword at the table behind them. Este threw up the peace sign, mouthed “call me”, and made funny faces as Liam and Cheryl were put on the spot. Twitter has since crowned Este the winner of the Brit Awards.
Moving on to our fourth moment, host Jack Whitehall is at it again. He sat down to interview the ladies of Little Mix during the show, and pulled out one savage diss on Jesy saying QUOTE: “Last month you hit 3 billion views on YouTube, and only 2 billion of those were people watching you trying to do a Jamaican accent, Jesy”. Nope. She did not look thrilled about that one.
So some folks think Este Haim won the Brits, but we think the real winner may be this next and final moment. Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher took the stage to perform a moving tribute to the victims of the Manchester bombing. He brought the audience to their feet as they sang along to the Oasis hit “Live Forever”. Liam replaced Ariana Grande who was set to perform but had to pull out at the last minute due to illness.
