We’re all dying for Shawn Mendes’ new, self-titled album and while it’s not being released until tomorrow May 25th - you know how sometimes you want to have a margarita for breakfast and you’re like, ‘well, it’s happy hour somewhere.. no? Mkay. Well, it’s Friday the 25th somewhere. And in that lucky part of the globe people are drinking up Shawn’s new music. And OMG yall. The song Why is definitely about my Cuban sister Camila.
The song starts with: QUOTE “I know a girl, she’s like a curse / We want each other, no one will break first / When people ask about us, now, we just brush it off / I don’t know why we act like it means nothing at all / I wish that I could tell you that you’re all that I want, yeah.” Side note- that is SO romantic. Anyway, these lyrics are about a girl whom he gets asked about on the reg. Duh Camila. He then asks, “Why do we put each other through hell? Why can’t we just get over ourselves?” Buddy, my question exactly. Then he sings: “When I hear you sing, it gets hard to breathe / Can’t help but think every song’s about me / And every line, every word that I write / You are the muse in the back of my mind, oh.” So she’s a singer?
