Ansel Elgort is taking on the “City of Stars” in his newest piano cover, and it’ll make you feel as though you’re wandering deep in the heart of America’s most talked-about musical.
Prepare to get your fangirl on because Ansel may have just proved himself to be the next Ryan Gosling… ok so that’s not a thing, but his newest cover is the real deal.
Take note Ry-Gos, because there might just be a new Sebastian in town. Ansel Elgort showed off his musical chops yesterday, sharing a version of the smash hit musical La La Land’s track “City of Stars”, originally sang by Ryan Gosling, and by the sounds of effortless piano runs and soothing vocals, you, too, will feel like frolicking through the city of Angels on cloud 9 with your own Sebastian by your side.
So if we were to compare what was just heard to the original version, I’d say Ansel’s take on the classic hit gives Ryan a run for his money…
DJ-Ansolo got some serious pipes on… he may even be able to spin a sick remix out of his own adaption. He received tons of positive feedback from fans after posting the video to Instagram yesterday, including many comments asking him to do the entire song, and even some followers claiming his was the best cover so far. But Ansel isn’t the first to add his own touches to the song… Sabrina Carpenter also shared a video to her YouTube page, flawlessly covering both Ryan and Emma Stone’s part of the famous duet.
Ok, so we know what the fans think about Ansel’s cover, and now I want to know what you guys thought about his take on “City of Stars”, so get the conversation going right down here in the comments, and afer that, don’t forget to click right here to check out an all-new Beauty Trippin where the girls channel their inner Ansel with a few lessons on DJing, and as always, don’t forget to subscribe.
