So what happens in the donut shop obviously doesn’t stay in the donut shop, and now Ariana is paying the price and coming clean with a sincere apology.
In the statement released to Buzzfeed earlier today, Ariana focuses mainly on her hateful comments toward America after the donut shop employee set out a large tray right in front of her and her back-up dancer Ricky Alvarez. She starts off by saying QUOTE, “I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American and I've always made it clear that I love my county. What I said in a private moment with my friend, who was buying the donuts, was taken out of context and I am sorry for not using more discretion with my choice of words."
Ariana, who has always been an advocate for healthy eating, also talks specifically about what she meant by “hating America” by going on to say QUOTE, “I sometimes get upset by how freely we as Americans eat and consume things without giving any thought to the consequences that it has on our health and society as a whole. The fact that the U.S. has one of the highest child obesity rate in the world frustrates me. We need to do more to educate ourselves and our children about the dangers of overeating and the poison that we put into our bodies.”
She ended the statement once again apologizing for not thinking before speaking and if she offended people with her poor choice of words.
Before the apology was released, Ariana had planned on performing at the MLB All-Star Game concert this upcoming Saturday, and rumors began swirling that she backed out because of the comments that were made in the doughnut, but fear not, Arianators, ya girl was just havin’ some wisdom teeth pulled.
