Bella Thorne just called for a boycott of this year’s Teen Choice Awards
The Twitter rant came out of nowhere
Bella Thorne is one of the many young stars nominated for a Teen Choice Award this year. While normally that would be a good thing, the actress is not pleased.
On Tuesday, Bella took to Twitter to air her grievances, and she did not hold back. In a series of tweets, she wrote QUOTE: “Teen choice is gross. The fact we are even voting against each other is… It f*cks [with] kids' heads like a beauty competition… I’m #boycottingteenchoice besides it being rigged it’s just f*cked up.”

She then went on to explain one of the reasons she was so angry over the awards show. She tweeted QUOTE: “Vote for the hottest is so gross. How about smartest? Or a charity category? How about we hype people up for doing good things not being hot.”

Bella definitely has a point. In this day and age, it’s not a good look to be judging people based on their physical appearance rather than their talent. But, we’re not gonna lie; it seems like there’s got to be another reason why Bella is so heated.
We’re not sure what that reason is yet, but she certainly isn’t the first person to accuse the TCAs of being rigged. Back in 2014, Cameron Dallas claimed the producers reached out to him days before voting ended to let him know that he was going to win Choice Viner. That same year, a perceptive fan noticed that One Direction’s pre-recorded acceptance speech was also filmed days before voting closed because of the outfits they were wearing in the clip.
And the TCAs haven’t exactly denied their shady tactics. An on-screen disclaimer at the end of the show read QUOTE: “Winners for the Teen Choice Awards are determined using the votes cast on the Site. Votes are tabulated electronically and winners are determined based on the nominees in each category with the highest number of eligible votes.”
But, here’s the catch: the last sentence reads QUOTE: “Teenasaurus Rox reserves the right to choose the winner from the top four vote generators.”
So basically, the production company confirmed what everyone had been accusing them of. And it seems like Bella has had enough.
