An award show wouldn’t be complete without a little drama, right?! Well Bella Thorne is now witnessing the social media backlash first-hand from a comment that backfired after tonight’s TCA’s.
The “Scream” actress took the stage tonight hand-in-hand with her beloved new beau Gregg Sulkin to announce the nominees for male choice web star, and as she mentioned Felix Kjellberg’s name, or at least the part of his name she was able to pronounce, PewDiePie fans took this as a maaaajor shade-throwing comment, and the social media pitch forks were ready to be fired. Let’s take a closer look at this:
And that’s when the tweets started flooding in. Some angry PewDiePie fans began sending Bella threatening messages, like one fan who wrote, “Pewdie fans to bella thorne atm” with a gif of a woman mouthing, “honey, you’ve got a big storm coming”
Another user wrote, QUOTE, “BELLA JUST SHADED PEWDIEPIE WHEN HES THE MOST SUBSCRIBED PERSON ON YOUTUBE ???? WHATS A BELLA THORNE”.
Ok, so I’ll spare you any more nasty comments for now, BUT the good news is that Bella was quick to defend herself from her comment and immediately tweeted, QUOTE, “I knew how to say his name. It was part of the script. A joke. I didn't write it. Calm down. Nothing but love for @pewdiepie”
See, no harm there, just a light-hearted joke, which I’m sure PewDiePie, who wasn’t present during the TCA’s, was laughing over the joke.
