Blake Shelton Hilariously RESPONDS To Sexiest Man Alive Backlash

Hate all you want, but while you’re putting in your two cents in the form of 280 characters, Blake has a message for you all: Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful.
Following a line of some of Hollywood’s most beautiful creatures to ever walk the planet, like George Clooney, Dwayne Johnson, David Beckham and Chris Hemsworth to name a few, country music sensation and coach of NBC’s The Voice, Blake Shelton was given the title for 2017. Some were excited about the decision, but many others voiced their rather strong opinion on the matter via Twitter where Blake received massive amounts of criticism once the decision was made. But leave it to Blake to turn a negative into a positive, ultimately getting the last laugh.
He took to Twitter to thank his “fans” for their utmost support, reading off some of the most generous tweets… and in case you couldn’t tell, that entire sentence was purely sarcastic. He posted the video along with the caption “Thank y’all for the supportive words #donthatemebecauseimbeautiful”, and here were some of the nice things people had to say:
But the criticism doesn’t stop there – many other fans tweeted things like, “Woke up and saw Blake Shelton as the sexiest man alive. Did a bunch of celebrities die, or something, last night?” And “Blake Shelton is sexy if you like a guy who’s always about to lean in and tell you about a hearty healthy American dog food.”
But if there’s anybody who is well-equipped to handle the savage tweets from his critics, leave it to Blake to take his title and run with it. Blake has adopted the hashtag #donthatemebecauseimbeautiful and has incorporated it into each and every one of his tweets.
While appearing on Ellen earlier this week, he sported white tube socks under his suit to which he tweeted QUOTE, “Just made tube socks sexy. You’re welcome. #donthatemebecauseimbeautiful” and also wrote alongside a photo of himself on the beach, “That beach wasn't sexy until I got there... #donthatemebecauseimbeautiful”. He also apparently made hiccups and pickles sexy, saying, “I have the hiccups... And they sound so sexy. #donthatemebecauseimbeautiful” and I am eating a pickle. A sexy wet pickle... #donthatemebecauseimbeautiful”.
So maybe America’s verdict on whether or not Blake is, in fact, “sexy” has been dubbed as “definitely not”, but at least he’s got a great personality?
