The opening of the 2016 Kid’s Choice Awards brought the “force” tonight with a little help from the Storm Troopers, Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, and of course, this year’s host, Blake Shelton. Welcome back to Clevver’s 2016 award show season coverage.
What better way to kick off the Kid’s Choice Awards then by saving the show from the First Order with a little help from some of your favorite stars?
The Forum in Los Angeles may be a ways away from space, but that didn’t stop the storm troopers from attempting to take over the KCAs.
The show kicked off with a Stars Wars themed skit featuring host Blake Shelton along with lots of familiar faces. The skit started off with Blake giving himself a little pep talk in his dressing room before being visited by his pals from the Voice for some words of encouragement.
When Pharrell offers you his Spongebob socks, you take them.
Selena Gomez then popped her head in to wish Blake good luck RIGHT before he begged to be in her friend squad, but needless to say, Selena wasn’t too jazzed about initiating new members… Butttt she DID warn him that the first order was attempting to take over the show. BB8 and Chewbacca also stopped by Blake’s dressing room before Blake found himself caught in the middle of a shoot out with the storm troopers. And because shoot outs can get a little rowdy, LAST year’s host was woken from his beauty sleep.
But leave it to Breanna EE-D from School of Rock to save the day. She advised Blake that she had made a few modifications to his coaching chair from the Voice that would catapult him to the stage to save the day... And hey, she’s got the magic touch because it worked, And that my friends is how you make an entrance.
