Blake Shelton Named People's 2017 Sexiest Man Alive & Twitter Reacts

Hold up – did the electoral college have something to do with this decision?
Ok, don’t get me wrong – Blake Shelton is a fox. He’s hot, he’s hick, he treats his woman right, and he ain’t afraid to tell it like it is. But the fact that he beat out other sexy snacks like Ryan Gosling, Idris Elba and Justin Timberlake for this year’s honorary Sexiest Man Alive title has the Internet in quite a rage.
Over the past few years, Blake has made his mark as one of country music’s biggest stars and a coach on NBC’s The Voice with multiple winning titles, so surely he wasn’t the least bit shocked to hear the news that he was dubbed the sexiest man in America, right? WRONG. His first response upon hearing the news was, “Y’all must be running out of people Like, Wow, we’re down to somebody who is somewhat symmetrical.”
All jokes aside, it was Blake’s lady friend of two years Gwen Stefani, who told him to be proud of the title she’s known all along. Blake said QUOTE, “She goes, ‘Listen to me, you’re going to regret this for the rest of your life if you don’t take this gift and just live in the moment.” But the one person’s ass he couldn’t wait to “shove this up” in his words, was his fellow Voice coach rival and 2013’s Sexiest Man Alive alumn, Adam Levine.
What’s some good friendly competition, right? Adam genuinely seemed happy for Blake, but Twitter on the other hand? Not havin’ it. One user wrote compared him to other actors who’ve yet to receive this recognition, saying QUOTE, “Blake Shelton is People’s Sexiest Man Alive because apparently Idris Elba, Chris Evans and Jason Momoa fell off the planet last night” when another user clapped back with, “even a straight man can see there's no way blake shelton is the sexiest man alive. i dont think he's even the sexiest man named blake shelton.” Yeah, ouuuch.
Some people even took it upon themselves to collect receipts from Blake that have stirred up a wave of controversy, including a string of homophobic tweets. This Twitter user attached some of Blake’s previous tweets that read, “If you haven’t noticed Richard Simmons is gay, you haven’t noticed Katy Perry’s boobs” and “I’m not gay, but I think Ellen is hot… wait a minute… what?”
But hey, if Trump can become president and Blake can become the sexiest man alive, then according to this twitter user, Snooki better start preparing for her Nobel Prize Speech. Man Twitter, you are SPILLING that tea today! But on a lighter note some people took the news as a little glimpse of hope. One person said, “Blake Shelton gives me hope that I too could one day be People Magazine's sexiest man alive” and for all you lucky 7s out there, this tweet is for you. It said, “I heard my dude Blake Shelton won People Magazine’s “Sexiest man Alive.” Way to hold I¬t¬ down for all the 7s out there. We appreciate you.”
