Army members, if this is the first you’re hearing the news, I hope you’re sitting down…
What’s up guys it’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and this will be the group’s first chance to get a little R&R since they started off in 2013
Big Hit Entertainment, BTS’s agency, released a statement Sunday breaking the news.
The statement read: “This period of rest will be an opportunity for the members of BTS, who have relentlessly driven themselves towards their goal since their debut, to recharge and prepare to present themselves anew as musicians and creators.”
And after 6 years of constant touring, rehearsals, writing, meet & greets, and traveling, the boys certainly deserve this break.
We’re not sure how long it’s going to last yet, but BTS has 4 shows coming up in October in Saudi Arabia and South Korea.
But something tells me these shows might just be a break from their break – and their hiatus will last a little longer than 2 months.
Some people believe that the break is due to the required military service that the boys will eventually be required to go through as citizens of South Korea.
In fact, earlier this year, Jin did an interview with CBS this morning where he said that he would be leaving for the military at some point.
And since then there’s been a petition going around to get all of the members to serve together.
BUT In Big Hit Entertainment’s press release, they say that the boys will “rest and recharge in their own personal ways”.
Joining the military doesn’t really sound like ‘rest and recharging’ so that might not be it.
Regardless, the BTS ARMY is happy to hear that the boys are getting what they need.
And of course, since they’re ARMY, they got the hashtag Rest Well BTS trending on twitter.
One person said “I’m so happy BTS will get the vacation they deserve so much! ARMY will be waiting for you all and we hope you’ll have fun and rest well”
And another said “If I see any members of BTS at a restaurant or something I’m ignoring their asses and buying them a round of drinks on me.”
That’s because in their statement, Big Hit Entertainment requested that fans “show consideration for their need to rest and enjoy their private time off”
So hopefully the boys can all get all the rest and relaxing they need to be fully recharged on their return. And while we wait for their return, what are your thoughts on this news? Are you happy to hear the boys will be taking some time off to rest? What do you think they’ll do during their time off? Chat it out in the comments section below.
