Celebrities are sharing their condolences following the death of famed chef, restaurateur, and host of CNN’s ‘Parts Unknown’ Anthony Bourdain.
We have unfortunately lost another great life to the battles of depression.
CNN confirmed his death by suicide this morning saying QUOTE, "It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain. His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time."
His surrounding communities have all been thoughtfully responding since the news broke. Gordon Ramsey tweeted, “Stunned and saddened by the loss of Anthony Bourdain. He brought the world into our homes and inspired so many people to explore cultures and cities through their food.”
Barack Obama tweeted a photo of the two together in a restaurant in Hanoi and said, ““Low plastic stool, cheap but delicious noodles, cold Hanoi beer.” This is how I’ll remember Tony. He taught us about food — but more importantly, about its ability to bring us together. To make us a little less afraid of the unknown. We’ll miss him.”
Jamie Oliver said, “I have to say I’m in total shock to hear that the amazing Anthony Bourdain has just died. He really broke the mould, pushed the culinary conversation, Rest in peace chef thoughts and love to all his family and close friends.”
Mandy Moore shared her thoughts saying, “This is utterly heartbreaking. Thank you for opening our eyes to parts of the world both cherished and unknown. What a legacy. Sending peace and love to his family. If you or someone you love needs help, please reach out or call 1-800-273-TALK.”
Alton Brown heartbreakingly tweeted, “I...don’t...believe it. I don’t and I won’t.”
And Chrissy Teigen said QUOTE, “Anthony. One of my idols. Unapologetic, passionate and one of the best storytellers on the planet. Thank you for making food so exciting. And always standing up for everything right. Horrible. Why why why. Be at peace now :(“
His partner before his passing, actress Asia Argento tweeted QUOTE, “Anthony gave all of himself in everything that he did. His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many, and his generosity knew no bounds. He was my love, my rock, my protector. I am beyond devastated. My thoughts are with his family. I would ask that you respect their privacy and mine.”
These reactions were only the beginning to the outpouring of responses to Anthony Bourdain’s untimely death.
This was devastating news to say the least, and if you know someone who is struggling with suicidal thoughts please don’t hesitate to reach out to them. And if you are dealing with a darkness of your own, please try to understand that there are people who love and care for you, and do your best to talk with someone. Let’s all open our hearts and be compassionate to our loved ones. I’m AvaGordy, thanks for watching Clevver.
