It’s safe to say that the ENTIRE world was rocked by the news of Mac Miller’s death after it was reported on Friday afternoon that he passed away from an apparent overdose at his home in Los Angeles.
Fans and celebrities alike took to their socials to react to the news. While many celebrities simply tweeted their condolences to Mac’s family and friends, others got more personal and remembered how much of an impact Mac had on their lives.
Chance the Rapper was one of the first celebrities to tweet about the news once it had broke. He wrote QUOTE, “I don’t know what to say. Mac Miller took me on my second tour ever. But beyond helping me launch my career he was one of the sweetest guys I ever knew. Great man. I loved him for real. I’m completely broken. God bless him.”
Kehlani remembered her friend on Instagram with a very emotional message. She wrote QUOTE, “We were supposed to get Hawaiian this week, shoot your video next week, I was gonna pull up for how to get away with murder, was gonna copy your new Saturn tattoo. Rare you meet people in this industry that make you feel like home, make you feel human, because they’re human too. Utterly heartbroken. I promise to finish The Night Manager and if I ever meet Hugh Laurie I’ll tell him he was our dude. I love you, man. Can’t comprehend talking to someone damn near every day and wake up and they’re gone. I will miss you so much, beyond the music that changed my high school/young adult world. I’m gonna miss my friend, RIP Malcolm. Check on your friends, even the strong funny ones.”
G-Eazy tweeted, “Completely devastated and heartbroken. I’m at a loss for words. Mac, you were like a brother to me and were there for me in the hardest of times. Especially this summer. I can’t believe this is real.” A couple of days after Mac’s death, G-Eazy dedicated his concert at Tampa Bay’s MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre to the late rapper.
Like G-Eazy, Drake also remembered Mac at his own show at Boston’s TD Garden.
Solange Knowles tweeted out, “Rest in your peace, Mac Miller. Always exuded so much kindness and goodness. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us all.”
As many of Mac’s peers paid their respects with sweet photos and their own personal stories, Ariana Grande simply remembered Mac with a black and white photo on her Instagram.
We here at Clevver Newsfeed send our condolences to Mac’s family, friends, and his fans. Thanks for watching, I’m Naz Perez and I’ll see you all next time.
