Charlie Puth REVEALS Selena Gomez Fling Really Messed Him Up

Rumors swirled that Charlie and Selena were seeing each other back in 2015, when they collaborated on the track “We Don’t Talk Anymore”. Those rumors seemed to hold even more weight when fans pointed out a painting of a woman that looks JUST like Selena in Charlie’s video for “How Long”. The lyrics in that song suggest that Charlie cheated on a girl he was seeing, which has some fans wondering if that’s why things didn’t work out between him and the “Wolves” singer. Well, Charlie is finally opening up about his fling with Selena, and according to him, he was left hurt very hurt by the way the short romance ended…
In a new interview with Billboard, Charlie explained QUOTE, “It’s about a particular moment in my life, when someone very close to me wanted the attention of somebody else. When I found that out and we ended it, I might have done some shady things too, and she might have asked me, 'How long has this been going on?'” He continued QUOTE, “I don’t kiss and tell, but the only way a song like that can come across as real is if there’s something else going on behind the scenes...And that’s what was happening [with Gomez]. Very short-lived, very small, but very impactful. And it really messed me up. I’m trying to put this the best way possible: It wasn’t like I was the only person on her mind. And I think I knew that going in -- what I was getting myself into.”
Not everyone is feeling pity for Charlie’s admission of heartbreak at the hands of Selena. One fan tweeted QUOTE, “Charlie Puth made a song with Selena for only two damn weeks, that was 2 years ago. He more effected off that than Abel was dating Selena for 10 months. LMFAOOO LIKE BOY, PLS SIT TF DOWN”, while another wrote QUOTE, “Things I've learned so far today: 1. Selena is alive and well. 2. Charlie Puth can't take rejection.” And one fan threw out the ultimate burn, writing QUOTE, “Selena’s reading this like “we had a romance?””
