It's that time of year again, folks -- all the big network channels are announcing which of their shows will be coming back for another season and which shows got GULP canceled.
Yes, while there are some shows that get cancelled throughout the year -- mostly shows going through their first season -- we're just going to focus on all the shows that fans were waiting to hear about, so let's get started.
First off, let's talk about NBC -- pulling the plug on one of its most talked about shows -- Community. It was announced on Friday that the show was officially dunzo after five seasons -- even though it was promised "Six seasons and a movie." Fans all over the Internet were totally bummed to learn this news, but people are already championing for the show to actually get a turn on the big screen. Joel McHale spoke out about the cancellation on Twitter saying: "Thanks Community fans for being the greatest that have ever walked the earth & Thanks @danharmon for letting me be on the coolest show ever."
We know it's a less than ideal situation but let's not forget this show was pretty much on the verge of getting axed throughout its entire run. Isn't it kind of nice to just, ya know, put it out of its misery?
However, the folks over at Greendale Community College shouldn't feel too bummed, as Revolution, Growing Up Fisher, Believe, and Crisis were all cancelled as well.
Another show that's on the bubble as of right now is NBC's much beloved drama Parenthood. It has long been speculated that the ensemble family drama would get one last season, but now there are reports that the cast is in a stand-off with the network over money disputes. Basically, the last season would come out to 13-episodes, with each cast member only appearing in 9 episodes each which would ultimately cut costs. However, it's been pretty difficult to negotiate, and if an agreement isn't made by the upcoming deadline -- the show is done for good! Say it ain't so -- figure it out, Bravermans!
Anyways, some shows that WILL be coming back for another round on NBC include Hannibal, About a Boy, Law and Order SVU -- which will be going into its 16th season, BTDubs, The Blacklist, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Grimm, The Voice, and Parks & Recreation.
Alright moving on, let's talk about what's going on over at FOX. Shows that have lived to see another day include: Sleepy Hollow, Bones, Glee, The Simpsons, Master Chef Junior, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy, The Following, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Mindy Project, New Girl, So You Think You Can Dance, and American Idol which will go into its 14th season next year! Alright, let's talk causalities. FOX Shows that have been officially cancelled include: Enlisted, Almost Human, Dads, Rake, Raising Hope, Surviving Jack, and as you might recall, The X Factor....
