Demi Lovato reveals she co-owns the rehab center that saved her in one of her most candid interviews yet.
Demi Lovato knows what it’s like to overcome addiction and substance abuse, and now she’s using that experience to help others.
Demi opened up to CBS recently about her passion for singing and her passion for helping people--particularly those struggling with addiction and mental illness. When asked why she’s so open about her past and present troubles, including an ongoing battle with bipolar disorder, Demi explained QUOTE, “At a young age, I realized that, if I’m going to become a singer, I need to use my voice for more than just singing.” She even made a pact with god when she was a kid, promising to use her fame for good...
I mean that clearly worked out for her so maybe we should all start making pacts? But unlike many who would just take the success and run, Demi really is holding up her end of the bargain. She now co-owns the CAST Rehab center, which is the facility that helped save her life in 2013, after she hit her lowest point.
Thanks to rehab Demi overcame her struggles and is now more successful than ever. In addition to investing in CAST, Demi’s also using her voice spread awareness of mental illness to people across the country with what’s called “CAST Centers on Tour”-- an interactive seminar that takes place before each stop on Demi’s Future Now tour with Nick Jonas.
Okay that’s amazing, but it’s probably safe to say that at least a few of those fans just showed up to see Demi up close and personal, right? Hey, as long as her message is getting heard, I’m sure Demi’s fine with that.
And in case you didn’t think Demi could get any cooler, just go ahead and watch the part of the interview where she casually kicks ass at boxing...
Yup, she’s a boss aaaand she knows it. So now I wanna know what do you guys think about Demi’s candid interview and her investment in the rehab center?
