Police STOP Burglars' Plan to Rob Demi Lovato's House While She's in Rehab

It’s been a pretty rough month for Demi Lovato. At the end of July, the singer overdosed in her Hollywood Hills home, and she spent over a week in the hospital. Since then she’s been recovering in a rehab facility out of the state. The time away from LA is probably much-needed, but there’s one unfortunate consequence of her absence: it’s left Demi a perfect target for burglars.
TMZ reported that shortly after Demi left the hospital to go to rehab, a group of thieves were arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department. The arrests were unrelated to Demi, but the LAPD’s investigation revealed that the group had plans to burglarize Demi’s home while she was away receiving treatment.
Demi’s $8.3 million mansion was just on of the targets on the group’s list. They reportedly planned to hit a number of homes, both celebrity and non-celebrity owned. But thanks to the police, that plan was foiled.
But just in case, the police have stepped up security on Demi’s property to make sure it stays safe while she’s away.
I guess if you’re going to rob someone’s house, it makes more sense to do it when they’re not there. But really guys? You’re going to rob someone who’s recovering from a drug overdose? Not cool.
