There is a clip making it’s way around the internet that people believe is a recorded demo of Camila Cabello singing the Chainsmoker’s hit, “Closer.” Which could mean that Camila may have been up against Halsey for the featured vocals.
Now that “Closer” has been heavily ingrained in all of our minds for eternity, it’s hard to imagine anyone elses vocals but Halsey’s featured on the track, but Camila sounds pretty good.
It’s no secret that “Closer” was one of the biggest hits of 2016. Its lyric video on Youtube has over a billion views, it spent 12 weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for a Grammy. But chances are that those coveted Halsey vocals could have been sung by Camila Cabello. A video has surfaced online of someone singing Halsey’s part and people are convinced it is Camila. Check it out:
Since we can’t see her in the video and because it hasn’t been confirmed we don’t know for sure if the vocals are Camila’s, but let’s be real, girlfriend has a signature voice. So while we’re pretty confident that the vocals ARE Camilas, the real question here is what was the recording for? Was Camila in the running against Halsey to have her vocals featured? Maybe. Or Camila just felt like recording her own version of the song one day for fun. It’s definitely a mystery but I want to know what you guys think.
