Drake Drops New Album & Gushes Over Rihanna and Taylor Swift!

It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for. Drake’s highly anticipated album “Views” is finally out and the rapper had a lot to say about his album – especially his collaboration with Rihanna.
It’s a good thing Beyonce and Drake didn’t release their albums on the same day because there would probably be SO many mixed emotions. Late Thursday night, before his global listening party on Apple Music, the rapper sat down with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe to chat about his fourth studio album and Drizzy had A LOT to say not only about the creation of Views, but his work relationship with Rihanna.
The rapper had nothing but great things to say about his musical partner in crime. He told Zane QUOTE, “It wouldn’t be a record without Rihanna, would it? We do well together as a team … I think we do great music together. It’s tough to do guy-girl collabs … I think [the chemistry] is what makes the records better, though. It’s something genuine there. We’re not forcing some story on people. A lot of the music that we make and the energy that we bring is genuine. We have a lot of genuine energy between us.”
Clearly that genuine energy shows because how can you create a hit song like this one without having great chemistry with your partner on the track?
Anyway, aside from his relationship with Rihanna, Drake also touched a little bit on where he currently stands with Nicki Minaj. Things between the two basically fell apart when Drake and Meek Mill started feuding with each other and Drizzy was pretty candid about that. He said of their relationship, “I don’t really talk to Nicki. Another person I have a lot of love for, a lot of respect to her and the past and what we built. I understand what love is and I understand a personal situation. She dealt with me how I would expect her to – with class. I would do the same, you know. I have respect for Nicki, but unfortunately we haven’t spoken.”
That’s such a bummer. Especially since the two have done some great work together. Hopefully Drake and Nicki will be able to put aside their differences in the future and team up for some more musical collabs! And speaking of music, Drake teased during his Beats 1 interview that he definitely has more songs in his arsenal, and we’ll probably all hear it very soon. Like, summer soon when he’s on tour with Future. Drizzy also touched a little bit on Taylor Swift’s hilarious Apple Music commercial featuring his song with Future and he had nothing but nice things to say about Tay Tay.
The rapper and host on the show laughed about it before Drake said, “I love Taylor, man. She’s just such a sweetheart for doing that [Apple commercial] and just in general. She’s angelic to me, man.” How sweet.
