Did Rihanna shade Taylor Swift by rejecting to do a stage cameo for the 1989 tour??
No. No shade. When asked in an interview if she would be up for joining Taylor onstage, RiRi just said no.
Clearly walking the 1989 catwalk isn’t everybody’s wildest dream. In an interview with NME magazine, when asked if she would like to join the long list of other celebs who’ve performed with Taylor on her 1989 tour Rihanna said QUOTE - "I don't think I would. I just don't think it makes sense. I don't think our brands are the same: I don't think they match, I don't think our audiences are the same. In my mind she's a role model, I'm not. I can't really say I'm a role model. I'm not perfect. I'm not trying to sell that.”
And there’s nothing wrong with that! Plus let’s be real, what would they perform together? Imagine T-Swift singing “Bitch Better Have My Money” or “Pour It Up.” It’s not gonna happen.
In the interview, Rihanna went on to say – “I want people to have fun but be responsible, protect themselves and be in control of your life. You can never judge people. I always made that a point. You never know what someone is going through."
Many speculated that Rihanna was planning a revenge song as an answer to “Bad Blood” due to the fact that RiRi and Katy Perry are friends and that THAT was the real reason why she doesn’t want to perform with Taylor but honestly I don’t think Rihanna cares enough.
