Emma Watson Hid Feminist Books All Around NYC For International Women's Day

Emma Watson celebrated International Women’s Day in the best way possible, by leaving powerful literature across NYC for people to find.
Hermione Granger and Belle would be so proud.
If you didn’t know, about Emma’s not-so-secret role as a book fairy, now you know. The actress actually opened up about leaving books here and there for others to find when she was on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this week and for International Women’s Day, Emma decided to put on her wings and spend the day dropping off books at some historical sites in New York City.
Emma documented her mission on social media and gave her fans a heads up on Twitter. She wrote QUOTE, “Today I’m a red-striking ninja book-fairy out to spread some wise women’s words” and then she set off on her journey to drop off books that celebrated incredible achievements that women have made.
The actress dropped off some books at the Harriet Tubman Memorial:
The Joan of Arc Memorial…
The Gertrude Stein statue…
And the Eleanor Roosevelt Monument, just to name a few. But, dropping off books wasn’t the only thing Emma did! The ‘Beauty & the Beast’ actress also wrote personal messages in each of the books she dropped off.
While Emma did her best to remain undercover throughout the day while she was being a book fairy, she couldn’t help but make some time for a fan who managed to spot her outside the Blue Stockings Bookstore.
