Girl power is strong in the world of pop music because the girls of Fifth Harmony are standing up and defending the clothing criticism that was thrown in Little Mix’s direction.
Little Mix got a ton of flak on their “provocative” (do airquotes lol) outfits a couple of weeks ago and Fifth Harmony has the right response to all of their haters.
If anyone knows about provocative clothing criticism, it’s the girls of Fifth Harmony. It’s been a couple of weeks since Little Mix’s X Factor performance and all the drama that went along with it, but that didn’t stop Fifth Harmony’s Normani from defending her fellow female peers.
When asked by Official Charts Company about how the group felt about the criticism behind Little Mix’s on-stage outfits, Normani quickly came to their defense.
She said QUOTE, “It definitely makes me query as to where we are in the world right now. We definitely do get [criticism] sometimes. I remember when the ‘Work From Home’ video came out and people had a bunch to say. We did also get a lot of support from our amazing fans, but it was kind of the outsiders that were the ones criticizing us. We’re women and we want to embrace that, so whatever makes us feel good. We work really hard every single day and we want that to be seen, and we want to be confident. If I want to wear shorts or a crop top, that doesn’t necessarily make me a slut. It just means I’m confident in my body because I work really hard for it.”
Preach it, girl. On top of Normani’s defense, Ally also opened up about her hopes and dreams of collaborating with Perrie, Jesy, Jade, and Leigh-Ann. The singer told Digital Spy that she and her fellow bandmates would QUOTE, ‘Love to team up with Little Mix. They are incredible and so fierce. They are killing it right now so we’d love to collaborate with them. We need to make that happen.”
Yeah, that needs to happen pronto because we’re all waiting. I have a feeling a Fifth Harmony and Little Mix collaboration would be the ultimate girl power song.
