Demi Lovato SLAMS Cosmo Protestors Over "Racy" Cover Accusations

Demi Lovato’s latest Cosmopolitan magazine cover is causing quite the controversy, and we’ve got all the scoop.
After a petition to have Demi’s sizzling Cosmo spread covered up in supermarkets went viral, you best bet Demi will have the last word.
Demi appears on the September issue of Cosmo magazine in a silver glittery cleavage-bearing dress, but apparently that isn’t sitting well with a group of protestors from the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, who have launched a “Cosmo Harms Minors” campaign, which assimilates the cover with pornography.
Umm, hold up, are we looking at the same cover here…? It’s safe to say that Demi isn’t exactly keeping her cool for the summer as she got word of the protest and in turn, fired back with the most epic response. She took to Twitter last night to post a message with the #unwrapmycosmo, writing QUOTE, What these individuals who are protesting don’t understand is that for the first time in a long time I feel incredibly EMPOWERED and the MOST BEAUTIFUL I’ve ever felt on this magazine.”
She went on to say, “It’s so liberating to be able to show the world how confident a woman can be once she learns to love herself. It took soul searching and a bit of time before I learned to embrace my body therefore I could not have been more excited to do this shoot. I think what’s more important is showing women there’s NOTHING WRONG with embracing their bodies and sexuality. I am confident in my own skin and A PROUD @COSMOPOLITAN COVER GIRL!”
And she finished up her statement by encouraging her loyal fans and followers to check out her cover on newsstands everywhere. Although a few retailers, like RiteAid and Food Lion have announced that display issues in all stores will be shielded in the future, I, who am obviously #TeamDemi on this one, would also like to point out that this specific Cosmo spread not only features a fully-clothed Demi, but IS also one of the most tame spreads… Not even mentioning or encouraging any type of sexual headline or behavior, so Demi, KEEP WERKIN IT GIRL.
But this is not the first time this month Demi has portrayed her new sense of confidence. She recently tweeted that she was, “Showing more skin cause I’ve worked HARD for this body… #SORRYNOTSORRY” after photos surfaced of her in a risqué bikini, but hey, I gotta hand it to Demi, she is looking AMAZE lately, so girl keep doin what you’re doin!
