This year marks the 6th annual Michael Jackson “I Can’t Stop Loving You” Charity Weekend in MJ’s home town of Gary, Indiana that is thrown every year in celebration of his birthday. The weekend is filled with lots of festivities and performances including Fifth Harmony this year who got an exclusive opportunity to take a tour of MJ’s childhood home that is no bigger than a two car garage! MJ lived in the humble home with 8 other siblings along with his parents so we’re talking 11 people in a house with two bedrooms and one bathroom people. Proving that anything is possible no matter where you come from.
Camila definitely felt that inspiration and tweeted that she burst into tears when walking through the house saying QUOTE – “yesterday in Indiana we got to walk inside the same house Michael Jackson grew up in. needless to say i burst into tears. made me think of so many talented kids in small towns that don't think they have a real shot at their dreams because of the circumstances. i know because i came from a completely different country and i thought i didn't have a shot- no money, no connections, no hope, nothing. whether you come from Havana, Cuba, or Miami, or Texas, or LA, or Gary, indiana, you can be who you want to be if you work hard enough.”
Ally of Fifth Harmony also tweeted about the emotional experience saying QUOTE - “Michael Jackson was so special :( He was one of a kind. A king. Superhuman. Magic. An angel He will forever be so dear to my heart. Today we had the honor of visiting the home that he grew up in. It was one of the most surreal, chilling, & beautiful experiences. Also so incredibly peaceful. Kind of like time stood still.”
Chills. MJ’s birthday is on Saturday, the 29th which would have marked his 57th birthday.
