Former Teluk Datuk assemblyperson Loh Chee Heng has been charged at the Shah Alam Sessions Court for fradulently claiming funds from the Selangor state government amounting to RM33,380.
Loh, 41, was sacked from DAP in May 2016 following an internal investigation into the abuse of state funds. His appeal against the decision was unsuccessful.
According to the charge sheet, Loh was accused of claiming the funds for two functions in his constituency that did not take place.
Loh claimed trial before Justice Mohd Sabri Ismail, who set Feb 25 for pre-trial proceedings. Bail was set at RM20,000 and the accused was ordered to surrender his passport.
