Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng has disputed the claim made by Sarawak tourism, arts, culture, youth and sports minister Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah that Sabah has received its share of the 2018 tourism tax revenue.
Lim said the Sabah state government has denied receiving such funds from the federal government.
Lim’s statement was made in response to Karim, who claimed that Putrajaya owed the state RM2.32 million for its share of taxes collected from January until September last year.
Karim reportedly said Sabah had received its share of the 2018 tourism tax revenue.
During a press conference today, Lim clarified that none of the states have received the money because the federal government needs to finalise the accounts.
