Iggy Azalea SLAMS "Disgusting" Steve Madden Shoot

Iggy Azalea and Steve Madden may have made shoe babies together, but mama does not approve of the company’s unapproved promo pics of SOCKS WITH SANDALS. And you can’t blame her that - shiz is offensive.
But let’s back up. As you may know, Iggy has collaborated with Steve Madden on a new shoe line that comes out today and while there were some promotional images that were mutually approved – featuring Iggy herself, there were others that were not… including a bunch of “”unintentional crotch shots on pool toys” as Iggy put it.
Promotional images for the new line were apparently posted to a Tumblr page that included a mix of pictures and gifs of headless models chillin’ on pool toys wearing, may I repeat, flippin socks with sandals and there are sprawled text blocks with tag lines like “Modern-day Spice Girls,” “Unapologetic, loud, and fun,” and an anonymous QUOTE that read – “I wanted to make shoes your girlfriends would love and your boyfriends wouldn’t understand.”
But it was soon made clear that Iggy was not in the marketing meeting that approved that nightmare because she went on to post a defensive rant on Twitter opposing the images saying QUOTE – “Everything in a collaboration is supposed to be mutually approved. But Steve madden did the most disgusting photo shoot ever and never Even told me about it, I’m just now seeing it as its uploaded on some random tumblr page and I am livid. I worked really hard on the creative direction of both the shoes and the shoot I WAS involved with and in. I really feel it’s been Tainted with these God awful images that Steve madden took [upon] themselves to create and share without my knowledge. Gross gross gross.” She finished off her rant saying QUOTE - “Ive been [bamboozled] with a tumblr page where everyone wears socks and takes unintentional crotch shots on pool toys. I’m in shock.”
When contacted for a statement, The Steve Madden Company told the Huffington Post QUOTE - "This was a lover’s quarrel. We love Iggy and are very excited about our collaboration. When you get two artists working together sometimes there are fireworks. It’s our creative differences that allow us to design an incredible collection and we are looking forward to sharing it with the world!"
So basically they wanted to take a chance on a surprise creative vision and didn’t tell Iggy… But all is now less tense because the tumblr page has since been password protected. Iggy also deleted her Twitter rant and replaced her feelings with a clarification statement on Instagram along with her actual promo images for the shoe brand. Iggy explained the reasoning behind her rant
Nor should anyone. Unless you’re Netflixin’ it, lounging in the comfort of your own home, socks with sandals are never ok.
