Jamie Foxx dissed President Donald Trump big time during his opening monologue at the 2018 BET Awards.
Let’s be honest here, was anyone really surprised by this diss?
Jamie Foxx wasn’t the first award show host to throw shade Donald Trump’s way during an opening monologue and he certainly won’t be the last. Shortly after Jamie welcomed everyone to the 2018 BET Awards, he kicked off his opening monologue with a BUNCH of praise for Black Panther and the director behind the incredible film.
However, before he started talking about how Black Panther broke all kinds of records and how the movie basically changed the world, Jamie just had to throw in a little diss at the current President of the United States with this.
Butttt that diss shouldn’t have come as too much of a surprise because days before the show, Jamie chatted with Billboard about his opening monologue and revealed he wasn’t going to hold back on any jokes whatsoever.
Jamie said QUOTE, “Nothing is off-limits, but you know what you don’t want to do? You don’t want people to feel like they got dressed up and we got the family here [to make them feel uncomfortable]. I think we have a way to do it where it’s funny. And like I said, it’s a celebration, so any [lighthearted] jokes [go]. We don’t ever bite our tongues with jokes, but we got to [do it in] a good way where we feel good.”
