Jay Z Serenades Beyonce Onstage for Birthday

And when I say b’day, I really mean BEY’Day as in B.E.Y because 9-4-81 belongs to the queen and only to the queen. To celebrate Beyonce turning 36, her close friends and family did a photoshoot dressed up in her signature wide brimmed hat look with the braids from the Formation video. The photos featured twenty boss women honoring Beyonce including B’s mom Tina, Jay-Z’s mom, his grandmother, Serena Williams, Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland, baby Blue Ivy and even the former first lady, Michelle Obama. The photos were featured on Beyonce’s website as a birthday shout out along with a callout that encouraged people to donate to the Houston hurricane relief efforts. The page says “Join us as the BeyGOOD team heads to Houston to continue our relief efforts on the ground. We have teamed up with Bread of Life, Greater Houston Community Foundation, and Texas Southern University, all of whom have been working with the displaced from the start of Hurricane Harvey’s landfall. Your donations will help in long-term revitalization and aid in purchasing immediate needs including: cots, blankets and pillows, baby products, feminine products, wheelchairs and more.”
Houston is of course Beyonce’s hometown so no doubt this project is very close to her heart.
But The birthday festivities didn’t stop with the honorary photo-shoot, Beyonce and Jay-Z headed to the Made in America Festival over the weekend where Jay took the stage to wish his wife a happy birthday.
If you think it’s overwhelming when just your friends sing Happy Birthday to you, imagine an entire arena. And by the way I am 1000% hanging the photo of Michelle Obama dressed as Beyonce in my apartment.
