If you see Jennifer Lawrence out in public, don’t expect her to be too friendly.
Not a lot of people would admit they’re rude in public, but Jennifer Lawrence isn’t like most people.
J. Law recently sat down to chat with comedian Adam Sandler for Variety’s Actors on Actors series and the celebs got to talking about how fans feel like they know them because of their public personas. Adam revealed that he’s had people literally pull up a chair at his dinner table at a restaurant in the past and was surprised when Jennifer didn’t have any similar experiences. Here’s how the actress explained her reason for this.
But even though Jen think she’s gives off a vibe that deters people from bothering her too much when she’s out and about, she realizes how hard it must be for people like her best friend Amy Schumer, who’s basically know for being friendly and relatable.
Jennifer has been open in the past about how there’s a fine line between wanting to show fans appreciation for supporting her work and allowing herself no privacy. She told The Daily Telegraph last December QUOTE “I think that people think that we already are friends because I am famous and they feel like they already know me - but I don't know them. I have to protect my bubble, like, 'I have a weird job — don't let this be a reality.'"
We also have to remember that Jennifer is a human who has insecurities like the rest of us, and there are some days when she simply doesn’t want to be photographed. She explained to Vogue magazine QUOTE “I’m happy to meet people, give autographs, shake hands, and say thank you; I wouldn’t have a job if people weren’t going to see my movies. It’s just…if I’m on an airplane and I have no makeup on, I don’t want to take a selfie that’s going to end up on E!”
Only Jennifer Lawrence could literally admit to being rude to fans and we still find a way to love her. Do you think Jen has a valid point for her self-proclaimed rudeness, or should she welcome all fan interactions? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below. I’m your host Renee Ariel, thanks so much for watching.
And then click to the left to find out why Jennifer may be quitting acting soon. Thanks again to Xfinity Mobile for sponsoring today’s episode. Xfinity Mobile is a new kind of network designed to save you money.
