Jennifer Lawrence landed herself another big role and you’ll be surprised to hear who she’ll be portraying on the big screen.
Is there anything JLaw can’t do?! The actress just signed on to star in biopic as Marita Lorenz, the woman who met and had an affair with Fidel Castro. Yeah, you heard me.
Now that she’s all done with ‘Joy,’ Jennifer is moving on to her next biopic where she will portray Fidel Castro’s former lover Marita! Jennifer is seriously no stranger to playing amazing, bad ass women on the big screen and let’s face it, this one will probably be her craziest role to date.
The film is said to follow the insane life of Castro’s former lover and their rocky relationship. Get ready because this is where things start to get a little crazy. The story is Marita, who was only 19 at the time, was romantically involved with the Cuban leader, got pregnant, and then got an abortion. After that wild ride, Marita left Cuba and went on to join an anti-communist movement in the U.S. She was then enlisted by the CIA to assassinate her lover. That, by the way, has to seriously be the mother of all plot-twists. Obviously, things didn’t go exactly as planned. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Marita returned to Cuba in 1960 to QUOTE, ‘Carry out the mission, but according to lore, yielded to love.’ Oh love, it makes you do some pretty crazy things.
