Kanye’s on-stage rants are usually a given at his concerts, but this time, he had a LOT to say about Jay Z and Beyonce.
These rants that Yeezy goes on at his shows aren’t brand new, but his latest one at the Saint Pablo show in Sacramento definitely rubbed a lot people the wrong way. Okay, there were other things that angered the crowds and citizens of Sacramento (yes, even those who didn’t even GO to the show), but we’ll get to that in just a bit.
After bringing out Kid Cudi onto his elevated stage and performing a couple songs, Yay went into a full-blown rant about how he was quote-unquote hurt by the one and only Queen B.
Obviously the rant didn’t stop there. Kanye went on to say QUOTE, “Beyonce, I was hurt because I heard you said you wouldn’t perform unless you won Video of the Year over me and over ‘Hotline Bling.’ In my opinion – now, don’t go trying to diss Beyonce. She is great. Taylor Swift is great. We are all great people. We are all equal. But sometimes, we be playing the politics too much and forget who we are just to win. Fuck winning. Fuck looking cool.”
But of course, Yonce wasn’t the only person he called out on stage. Kanye even dedicated a bit of his rant to his Watch the Throne partner in crime, Jay Z, where he pleaded the rapper to just give him a call.
This definitely wasn’t the first time Yay ranted about the power couple and something tells me it will not be the last one. Anyway, after he finished his super long speech, Kanye cut the show short and in true Yeezy fashion, he dropped the mic, walked off stage, and that was that. Needless to say, the crowd in attendance in Sacramento was NOT happy with the rapper at all.
Once the lights came on, fans started to boo and chant “fuck you Kanye” at, well, at Kanye, but since he was no longer on stage, they kinda did it to no one.
Thankfully the concert venue announced the day after the show that they would be giving a refund to those who purchased tickets to the concert. Even though the fans in Sacramento are getting their money back after Saturday night’s incident, the whole thing left a sour-taste in their mouths and the same can probably be said for Yay’s fans in Los Angeles.
Remember that November 3rd concert that he cut short due to being sick and then rescheduled a makeup one for November 20th? Well, at the very last minute – okay maybe not super last minute, but just hours before the concert was supposed to go on, Yeezy straight up cancelled it with no explanation – leaving both Ticketmaster and The Forum to explain that the show had been cancelled and that they would be giving refunds to those who bought tickets. It’s safe to say that Kanye did NOT have a good weekend.
What did you think of Kanye’s rant? Was he out of line for saying the things he said about Jay and B? Let me know in the comment section below.
