Kanye West's Epic Rant & Announces Presidency During 2015 MTV VMA Speech

And with MTV clearly aiming for those ratings, Taylor Swift presented Kanye with the prestigious award in wake of their past drama back in 2009. Kanye kicked off his speech by thanking Taylor for being so gracious, then reflected on the incident between them back in the day and how that resulted in him becoming a very misunderstood figure.
He then related that point to how incidents, events, and performers specifically can have a lasting affect on people even after they have gone. He then brought up the fact that he basically doesn’t understand award shows because he feels that artists, who’ve worked their butts off to get to where they are, then have to have their art compared at award shows and then told that all but one of them is a loser. Which if you think about it, is pretty unfair.
And by that, he was basically saying that he’s going to fight for what he believes in and it’s not always going to be what everyone wants to hear. Hence, when he spoke up about Beyonce losing to beck and T-Swift.
Now all things considered, Kanye did admit to smoking a little pot before the event to take the nervous edge off but he still got his point across. It took him awhile, but he did it.
Then after preaching about the importance of making the upcoming generation confident so that they too believe in themselves, he took a political jab at Donald Trump by saying this:
