Last night for Halloween, Kim K and her bff Jonathan headed out for Kendall’s birthday party dressed as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee in one of their iconic looks from back in the day. The resemblance was undeniable when Kim showed side by side photos but many people at the party didn’t know who she was because frankly if you were born after a certain time, chances are you don’t remember these exact looks. Kim documented different reactions from people on her instagram story asking if they knew who she was and as the no’s kept rolling in, Kim got more and more frustrated. It was definitely a playful frustration but then she let a word slip, that when taken out of context and given a negative connotation is not ok. The insta story has since been deleted but in it she used the r-word to refer to those who didn’t recognize who she was. But upon realizing what she had done wrong, Kim apologized for her comment in a statement to US Weekly saying - "I want to apologize for what I said in a recent video post that is inappropriate and insensitive to the special needs community. I try to learn from my mistakes and this is one of those times. Please know that my intention is always pure, and in this case, it was a mistake. I’m sorry.”
The reactions were strong from the Twitter community. People did not hold back from reprimanding Kim for her comment by pointing out that it is disrespectful to use that type of rhetoric in 2018.
In this type of situation it’s best to acknowledge what was done wrong, learn from it and move forward knowing better. Do you guys accept Kim’s apology? Sound off in the comment section below.
