Kim Kardashian responds to blackface accusations after posting promotional photos for her new beauty line.

Controversy seems to follow Kim wherever she goes, but is it intentional?

Kim K posted a promotional photo on Instagram and Twitter to announce her KKW Beauty creme contour and highlight kit. And the internet went in a frenzy saying that her skin was darkened for the photo with either makeup or retouching. Many people started accusing her of blackface.

Now Kim is speaking up about the controversy in an interview with The New York Times.

When asked about her side to the blackface story, she said QUOTE “I would obviously never want to offend anyone. I used an amazing photographer and a team of people. I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off. But I showed the image to many people, to many in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it.”

And the promo photos she’s been uploading on Instagram don’t appear to have the problems the original photo had. She added QUOTE, “We made the necessary changes to that photo and the rest of the photos. We saw the problem, and we adapted and changed right away. Definitely I have learned from it.”
