#KiniNews: No 'cartel' in S'gor Bersatu, says Muhyiddin; ‘HRW couldn't furnish evidence’ -Saifuddin

[KiniNews] Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin has dismissed the allegation that a “cartel” is controlling the party’s Selangor chapter.

He was responding to Bersatu’s Selat Kelang assemblyperson Abdul Rashid Asari, who claimed this is the reason behind his decision to support Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.

Previously, Rashid expressed his displeasure with Bersatu when it was led by a certain individual who only joined the party a day or two ago.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the recent report by Human Rights Watch detailing torture of detainees in immigration depots is still hearsay.

“So far, the report is still hearsay, it does not follow any research or reporting methodology that we can use.”

"No matter what, I still give it the 'benefit of the doubt’. Maybe there are things we overlooked,” he said in the Dewan Rakyat today.
