Before King Kylie was all over our TV screens, another Kylie was all the rage, and she doesn’t want anybody to forget her name.
Pop superstar Kylie Minogue has a very big issue with Kylie Jenner, and it all started when King Kylie attempted to trademark her name. Now Minogue and her legal team are trying very hard to keep that from happening, in fear of Minogue fans getting confused if Jenner owns the name they share.
According to World Intellectual Property Review, Jenner wants to protect her first name and its use in advertising services. We also know that Ky uses her name on her expanding line of cosmetics. But whatever her reasons may be to take ownership of her name, Kylie Minogue’s not having it. She threw obvious shade towards Jenner when she tweeted “Hello… My name is KYLIE. #lightyears;” a throwback to to her 2000 song. Her legal team, KDB is also not afraid to stand up for their client, reminding everybody that Jenner is undeserving of name ownership being that she is a QUOTE “secondary reality television personality,” while Minogue is QUOTE “ an internationally renowned performing artist, humanitarian, and breast cancer activist” OUCH. And her argument got a lot stronger when The Mirror reported that Kylie Minogue has owned Kylie.com before Kylie Jenner was even born.
