Lena Dunham's boyfriend has some, well, choice words for artists like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry -- saying they're making quote "throwaway" music. Well, well, well...but what has led someone to say such things?!?
Welp, Fun guitarist Jack Antonoff spoke to GQ while promoting the release of his debut album with his other band Bleachers, and was asked about the kind of music he personally likes, and doesn't like. One artist he was quick to praise? Taylor Swift! In fact, he went so far as to compare her to the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson, calling her quote "one of the best songwriters ever."
Jack continued: "Taylor Swift is cool, because she's the closest thing today that hearkens to Michael Jackson -- to great, great pop music."
And that's when the jab at Katy Perry and Lady Gaga came, as he followed that up by saying: "There's a difference between [Taylor] and Gaga and Katy Perry and Lily Allen and all that. It all feels throwaway, comparatively."
We feel like it's safe to assume we won't find any of their awesome tunes in his music library. However, if it makes you feel any better, we think that Jack might be a little bit biased here considering his GF Lena Dunham is BFF's with Taylor Swift. Just putting that out there for consideration.
