Nick Jonas, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga & More Send Love To Selena Gomez

In 2015, the Disney alum revealed that she suffers from Lupus and has since been vocal about raising awareness and educating others about the disease.
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body like the skin, joints or organs. In selena’s case, her kidney’s have been under attack, which is why she had to undergo surgery to get a kidney transplant from her friend Francia Raisa.
It couldn’t have been an easy decision to make, especially since it caused the two months of rehabilitation with a long road of recovery. While Selena is already back in the spotlight filming her new Woody Allen movie and hitting red carpets with her boyfriend, the Weeknd, she has created a lasting impact.
Not only did Francia take to Instagram saying that she is “beyond grateful that God would trust me with something that not only saved a life, but changed mine in the process. This was part of our story, and we will share it soon, but what is important now is that this is not the only story.” But she and and Sel both included links to lupusresearch.org where people could learn more about the disease.
According to the Lupus Research Alliance President and CEO, Kenneth Farber, Selena’s efforts has helped raise over $500,000 towards helping find a cure for the disease. And that’s not the only impression she has made.
Dozens of the biggest celebrities have been voicing their praise, admiration and well-wishes towards Selena. When Nick Jonas was asked about Selena’s surgery on SiriusXM's Hits 1 he said "I was as surprised as everyone else when I woke up and saw her Instagram. But wow, just incredible. And the strength she's shown through all that's amazing and inspiring. And I'm pumped for her. I'm happy to see that she's doing well, it seems, and that she was able to get the surgery. And her friend helping her was a beautiful thing, so it's all amazing."
Although the two split all the way back in 2008, we love that they are still supporting each other, especially in a time where Selena has been more vulnerable than ever before.
Other singers like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Kesha have also expressed their love. Katy commented on Selena’s Instagram saying “love your heart and authenticity”, Lady Gaga tweeted “Prayers & love to @selenagomez you are a warrior princess. What an inspiration.” And Kesha dedicated a whole Instagram post to Selena saying “My heart is with @selenagomez and @ladygaga. We’re all human & need self care. i hope both these icons heal safe & feel good. such wonderful role models for being so honest with a very critical world. – K”
We love seeing how Selena’s vulnerability and honesty about her illness has had such a positive impact on those around her, and we can’t wait until she is ready enough to tell her whole story. We’re sure everyone will be listening when she does.
