Lady Gaga ENDS Rumored Feud With Madonna With THIS Tweet After Inspiring Speech

Nothing buries the hatchet quite like a tweet praising your rumored rival…
That’s exactly what Lady Gaga did after watching Madonna’s powerful acceptance speech after winning the Woman of the Year award at the annual Billboard Women in Music ceremony. Madonna spoke about the endless misogyny and sexism she’s faced in her career over 34 years, and opened up about being raped as a teenager. Her words obviously touched Gaga, who recently opened up about her own sexual assault as a teen. She took to Twitter to praise Madonna’s courage and openness, tweeting directly to Madge QUOTE, “Your speech at the Billboard Music Awards was inspiring. You’re so brave & strong. Thanks for being that for us girls we need that.”
And, of course, fans of both pop divas immediately freaked out, especially because Lady Gaga and Madonna have been pitted against each other in the music industry for years. But now that Gaga has extended an olive branch in the form of the highest praise you can give a fellow female artist, we’re pretty sure we can all put those rivalry rumors to rest.
As for the speech that prompted Lady Gaga to tweet such admiring words Madonna’s way, it really was one of the most honest and important speeches we’ve seen about the rampant sexism in the industry to date.
Clearly what the industry--and the world--needs right now is more badass women like Lady Gaga and Madonna coming together to lift each other up--not tear each other down! Sooooo is there a collaboration in store for these two in the near future? PLEASE let that answer be yes!
