It hasn’t exactly been an overnight fix, nor have many people gotten over Logan Paul’s suicide forest video which generated immediate controversy from fans and the general population alike. But the YouTuber has gone through drastic measures to assure that he’s learning from his mistakes every day. After posting multiple YouTube apology videos, taking a break from the scene and even filming a suicide prevention PSA video along with a pledge to donate a million dollars to suicide charities.
But his efforts clearly don’t stop there. TMZ caught up with Logan at the airport this week, and after asking what’s next for him, he responded by saying QUOTE, “I like expressing myself in different ways – music definitely one of them, coming soon. Big moves, power moves!”
He goes onto tell the reporter that, “It’s important to learn from your mistakes, which I did, and I’m gonna continue to do. Keep my head up, keep moving forward and teach people what I’ve learned and spread the message as best I can.”
Hmmm, are we sensing a No. 1 hit about to drop soon? Okkk, not so fast… although things seem to be looking up for Logan, there are many, and I mean MANY, who still see the suicide video as an unforgivable act of carelessness. Celebrity reputation expert, Eric Schiffer, weighed in on Logan’s attempt at returning to the spotlight to In Touch, saying QUOTE, “Logan Paul should have stayed absolutely, completely dark and in a no WiFi cave somewhere off the grid. He's too toxically radioactive to do a re-entry now. My suggestion is to wait six months. Let time be his best friend.”
Although the suicide awareness video was a good attempt, according to many fans, Schiffer still wasn’t sold on it. He said, “He should have never made the video. If you're gonna give money, give money. You don't need to broadcast it. Do the work behind the scenes. Be real. Be organic. I think what people want to see is that he really got the message. Yes, it's great that a million dollars is going to these important organizations, but what also matters is that there's a sustainable set of actions that he's doing that really show remorse.”
Along with the backlash Logan has already received, many are concerned about his fans standing up for him and the effect this has on the younger generation. It has also been reported that the suicide video is the subject of at least two indie game parodies that appear to have already been removed from Google’s Play Store.
One game, titled Logan Paul in The Suicide Forest, is available on game-hosting service Game Jolt and has players move a 3D Paul avatar through a digital depiction of the infamous forest. The other game, titled Logan Paul: Suicide Forest Run, was released on the Play Store, but has since been removed.
Clearly there are still many many issues arising from Logan’s mistakes, so we can only hope he continues to show compassion while tying to prove himself, but right now I gotta know what you guys think about Logan’s upcoming music career and if you think he’s on the right track to regaining his fans’ trust, so get to talking down here in the comments, and after that, click right over here to check out a rundown of the latest celebrity news from today’s episode of DHR.
