Lucy Hale Opens Up Being Sexually Assaulted While Intoxicated

In a new interview with Haute Living magazine, Lucy Hale opened up about being sexually assaulted while she was intoxicated. She told the magazine QUOTE: “I've experienced stuff on the small side, but assault is assault. I think there are a lot of people who have been intoxicated and taken advantage of. It's happened to me and people I know. It's very common.”
She didn’t give any more details, but she might be referring to a since-deleted social media post she made back in January. The post read QUOTE: “I never understood sexual assault until tonight. I always sympathized, but I never felt the pain of it until right now. My dignity and pride was broken … I am completely at a loss of words … I feel for anyone that has felt this pain that I feel right now. But I promise. I will not let a moment go by that I don’t try to make a difference.”
Just days after making that post, she opened up to Us Weekly about joining the #MeToo movement. She told the publication QUOTE: “I think along with a lot of other people we’ve all had our experiences like that, and until it’s happened to you, you kind of don’t really understand how it can affect you and everyone around you. I just feel very honored to be around a lot of powerful women that are speaking up about it, and I think that’s where the change starts is when people start talking because you never know who’s listening or whose life you can impact.”
While it was no doubt a traumatic situation, Lucy told Haute Living that she hasn’t been hurt too badly and that she still loves LA.
