When Mac Miller and Ariana Grande broke up, they both basically said they still had nothing but love and respect for each other and they really meant it. Although Mac kept a pretty tight lip on his past relationship with Ariana after they both called it quits in May, he’s finally ready to open up about his ex.
During an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, Mac touched a little bit on his past romantic relationship with Ari. He said QUOTE, “I was in love with somebody. We were together for two years. We worked through good times, bad times, stress and everything else. And then it came to an end and we both moved on. And it’s that simple.”
And when Mac was asked about how he felt about Ariana and Pete’s sudden engagement, Mac went on to say QUOTE, “It’s all positive energy. I am happy for her and moving forward with her life just as I’m sure she is with me.”
Aside from opening up about his feelings on Ariana and her sweet relationship with Pete, Mac also talked about his DUI accident that happened about a week after he and Ari split where he ran into a utility pole with his G-Wagon and fled the scene.
He said of that incident QUOTE, “Yeah, I made a stupid mistake. I’m a human being. But it was the best thing that could have happened. Best thing that could have happened. I needed that. I needed to run into that light pole and literally like have the whole thing stop.”
Even though that’s such a scary thing to go through, Mac wanted to let everyone know that he’s doing just fine. He said QUOTE, “I have people that care about me and fans that love my music and it’s a beautiful relationship with them – people who have been with me through being a 19-year-old wide-eyed kid to being a self-destructive depressed drug user to making love music to all these different stages. Then they see something like that and they worry. So your first reaction is, ‘Let me tell them I’m cool.’”
Well, we’re glad Mac is doing much better these days.
