On the 8th of February, the 9th Edition of “Happy Chinese New Year Valletta” was held at Pjazza Teatru Rjal in Valletta with a spectacular performance by a group of acrobats from Guangxi Autonomous Region of China.
The event was organized by the China Cultural Centre and the Valletta Local Council, Malta and was jointly inaugurated by The Chinese Ambassador to Malta H.E. Mr. Cai Jinbiao, Hon. Mr. Chris Agius the Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sports, Dr. Alexiei Dingli the Mayor of Valletta and Mr. Wang Yanjun Director of the China Cultural Centre.
This year, the Chinese New Year begins on Thursday 19 February and ends on 5 March. 2015 — a Goat Year (“Wood Goat”) according to the Chinese 12-year animal zodiac (Heavenly Stem) cycle.
