Organised by the China Cultural Centre, Valletta, Malta, the first edition of "Singing Chinese Songs" was held on 18 Oct 2013 at its Centre.

Most interesting was that the Chinese songs were sung by non-Chinese and amongst them were Maltese in majority . Several performers were children. Their pronunciations in Chinese are much commended.

Performers were awarded with fabulous gifts from China, presented by Mr. Gu Hongxing, Director of the China Cultural Centre, Malta.

Besides the show, three Maltese winners of the Online Quiz and Essay Competition were awarded with Certificates and famous silk paintings in the same evening. There were 1800 participants. Juries were from the Ministry of Culture China.

After the show, a Chinese dinner reception was hosted at the Centre.
