Once again, the Valletta Local Council and China Cultural Centre in Malta organized the traditional "Happy Chinese New Year Valletta", under the patronage of China Embassy and Malta Tourism, Culture, Tourism & Environment. Jiangsu Art Group from China was flown to Malta to present us with their colourful performances. Martial arts demonstration(Wu Shu & Shaolin Kung Fu), hand-held lion dance, puppets, folk dance, traditional Chinese instrumental music and magic show are amongst the highlights.

The festival was held on the 3rd February at St George's Square. There were the Fancy Parade and Opening Performance by the Jiangsu Province Art Group from China. In the evening, a Grand Art performance was held at Sir Temi Zammit Hall at the University of Malta.

At the end of the celebration at Valletta, the Fancy Parade was again held in the streets of Valletta. Typical Chinese New Year's souvenirs were distributed to the public.

Wishing all the Chinese and those who celebrate Chinese New Year, a very healthy and prosperous New Year.
