Miley Cyrus DITCHES The Teen Choice Awards & Here's Why

Despite Miley being set to receive the Ultimate Choice Award this year and being involved in the Teen Choice Awards for over a decade, Miley was a no show.
It was obviously unplanned and last minute and surprised everyone in the crowd and everyone watching at home, including us.
The Teen Choice twitter account even made it seem like Miley was already there tweeting QUOTE, “.@MileyCyrus is in the HOUSE! We will see you at 8PM EST TONIGHT for #TeenChoice!”
Poor Victoria Justice had to break the news to us, but as consolation offered up Jake Paul who was hosting the Teen Fest stage.
And those two names being said in the same sentence had twitter talking.
Elijah Daniel tweeted, “BRUH THE TEEN CHOICE AWARDS JUST SAID MILEY CYRUS COULDNT MAKE IT SO HERES JAKE PAUL PUT ME IN MY GRAVE”
@GPinkSnapback tweeted, “I cannot believe they replaced Miley Cyrus with Jake Paul.”
After way too many minutes of everyone trying to figure out where the heck Miley was and why she hadn’t said anything, she finally updated her fans on Instagram and Twitter saying QUOTE, “To my dearest fans & all of those watching @teenchoicefox ! I want to say thank you from the very bottom of my heart for presenting me with #TheUltimateChoiceAward ! I am beyond bummed I couldn't make it to the show as I had every intention of being there to accept and celebrate this honor! I created an unrealistic schedule for myself which leads me to this announcement! I've been tryin to keep the secret but I can't hide it any longer! My new single / music video #YoungerNow will be dropping this Friday , Aug 18th & I am sooooooo EXCITED to share it with all of you!”
One fan reacted saying, “I hate that I can't see you tonight on the awards but I'm MORE THAN EXCITED for #YoungerNow!! Let's get it trending #Smilers!!!”
So while it’s a major bummer that she wasn’t able to attend the awards show, I guess it’s exciting that we have new music coming this week!
