Now that we are in a state of post war with the Miley Cyrus Nicki Minaj showdown, many are still trying to figure out whether or not the spat on stage was real or fake. We’ve got all the details right here on Trophy Life.
In case you’ve been checked out for the last couple of days, Nicki Minaj called out Miley Cyrus onstage during the vmas for talking smack about her to the press but the world is still pondering whether or not that shiz was real.
In hindsight, the whole incident was a little too good to be true. Just a little too convenient for MTV’s ratings to be real. But according to an EW source, the incident was not planned and Miley was taken completely by surprise. The source told EW QUOTE - “Miley stormed off stage cursing in anger after that moment.” But then again a second source told the EW that - “Miley wasn’t furious. There wasn’t anything malicious about all of this in the first place.”
So let’s weigh the evidence. Immediately following the incident, Nicki tweeted LMFAO and smiled after she called Miley out but we didn’t really see the smile because the camera panned away. But on the contrary, Nicki did retweet an article by the Atlantic that was titled, Nicki Minaj Teaches Miley Cyrus a Lesson About Manners. So by retweeting that, she was either making light of the situation or setting the record straight. And we have to remember that in the past, whenever Nicki has called someone out, she never directly puts them on blast, it’s always ambiguous shade so calling Miley out directly on stage in public kinda screamed planned for ratings but then a network source for MTV said that it was “a very real thing [that] caught everyone by surprise [and left] jaws dropped.”
Jaws dropped indeed and Twitter was lit. In fact, the ratings for the VMAs were lower than last years show with 8.3 million but all of the drama resulted in it setting a Twitter record of 21.4 million tweets. So in the end if this was all just a ploy for attention, MTV needs to be bowing down to Nicki Minaj.
But what do you guys think? Was the Miley Nicki incident planned or did Nicki really call Miley out?
