Over the weekend Miley Cyrus performed her new song “Cattitude” at a music festival in the UK and there’s one controversial lyric everyone is talking about. Did Miley totally just reignite the feud between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B?

What’s up guys? It’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and Miley just revealed what she really meant when she said "I love you Nicki, but I listen to Cardi,” in her new song.

We all know that Nicki Minaj and Cardi B are long time enemies and we couldn’t figure out why on earth Miley would want to insert herself into that narrative.
But in “Cattitude” Miley made it very clear she wasn’t choosing sides.

Miley said quote, “I don’t think there is beef now anymore.”

Which, as far as we know, there isn’t. Cardi and Nicki supposedly made up in October when Cardi posted Nicki’s tweet on Instagram saying quote, “Nicki Minaj alright then! Let’s keep it positive and keep it pushing.”

So why would Miley pit these two against each other, despite the beef having been settled?
She wasn’t. Miley actually had a very different message she was trying to get across with this lyric.

She even replaced the names Nicki and Cardi with Selena and Demi and herself and Ariana on Twitter.

She explained her greater message about comparing similar artists to the UK’s Capital FM.
Miley said quote: “I think you’re allowed to enjoy two artists who fill a similar lane. And I grew up always collaborating with Selena and Demi and there was never competition.”
So it really looks like she wasn’t trying to start anything. Actually quite the opposite.

It’s very true you can enjoy two artists in the same genre, even though they are constantly compared to each other.

And we’re definitely not here for pitting women against one another.

On Twitter fans chimed in with their own comparisons and not gonna lie some were even better than Miley’s.

One person wrote quote, “i love you Billy Ray, but i listen to Kacey Musgraves”

And another said quote, “I love you Hannah but I listen to Miley.. #SheIsComing”

As you probably know already, according to Miley’s Twitter, her new project is called “She is Coming” and it’s dropping May 31st
And based on those crazy promo videos we CANNOT wait to see what drops. Miley never disappoints!

Alright guys, now I want to hear from you. What are your thoughts on Miley sparking a conversation on being able to love two artists that are seen as competitors? And do you think that’s all Miley was trying to do with that lyric?
