Miley Cyrus is chiming in her two cents on the Nicki Minaj vs. Taylor Swift Twitter throwdown and… holllld up, are we sensing some shade being thrown at Barbz?
The VMAs just got even more interesting (if that’s even possible) as the host of the show has thrown some major shade at the show’s opening artist... IT’S ABOUT TO GO DOWN, people.
Right before Nicki Minaj was announced she was set to open the VMAs this Sunday, in an effort to promote her VMA hosting gig, Miley was asked about her take on the Nicki Minaj/Taylor Swift feud over the VMA nominations during a recent interview with The New York Times.
At first Miley kept it subtle, not directly bashing the “Anaconda” rapper, saying QUOTE, “I didn't really get into it. I know there was some beef. I don't really know... And then Taylor Swift butted in."
The interview then hinted at Nicki also calling out Miley's own past VMAs nom for "Wrecking Ball" by "saying that when a naked white girl breaks a Vevo record she gets nominated,” to which Miley responded by saying the way Nicki went about the issue was the real problem.
She said, QUOTE, “If you do things with an open heart and you come at things with love, you would be heard and I would respect your statement. But I don't respect your statement because of the anger that came with it. And it's not anger like, 'Guys, I'm frustrated about some things that are a bigger issue. You made it about you. Not to sound like a b*tch, but that's like, 'Eh, I didn't get my VMA.'"
And the shade throwing got even more personal as Miley then went on to say, "What I read sounded very Nicki Minaj, which, if you know Nicki Minaj is not too kind. It's not very polite. I know you can make it seem like, ‘Oh I just don't understand because I'm a white pop star.’"
While fans from both sides are waiting eagerly for Nicki or Miley to address the comments made, we can already assume from this statement that Miley will not be holding much back during the VMAs on Sunday, which calls for an even MORE jaw-dropping show.
