Nicki Minaj wins big at the AMAs and her acceptance speeches did not disappoint. We’re bringing you all the details right here on Clevver’s Trophy Life.
Today’s episode of Clevver News Feed is brought to you by T-Mobile, Breaking the rules of wireless – Switch to the Un-carrier.
And first and foremost, Nicki took the time to thank her loyal and loving fans for being the best fans on the planet, so this one’s for all you Barbs out there!
Nicki accepted her award for Favorite Album in the Rap/Hip-Hop category and in her speech, she revealed that The Pinkprint album was the hardest album she ever had to make, write and perform on stage night after night, so there’s no doubt that she felt great about winning after putting so much work into the album.
In her acceptance speech for Best hip hop artist, Nicki also gave a shout out to many collaborators, including Drake, who she beat out for the award. Although her shout out was a sweet gesture, the mention came before any thank you to her other collaborator and current boyfriend Meek Mill, which many fans, who voiced their opinion via social media, considered this a pretty hefty red flag.
But besides the slight bit of awkwardness, what did you think about Nicki’s acceptance speeches? Let me know all your thoughts right down here in the comments, and after that you can click right over here to check out The Weeknd’s HOT AMA performance… literally though, like hot, because fire was involved. But thanks so much for hanging out with me here on Clevver’s Trophy Life, I’m your host Sinead de Vries, and I’ll see you back here next time!
